Ottella's Gemei Rosso Alto Mincio is a great everyday, light red wine made from a blend of Corvina Veronese, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. It could be considered the younger, fresher brother of Campo Sireso which has the same grape varieties but is more intense thanks to a short period of drying or appasimento.
You'll find aromas of wild berries, plums, mocha, and dark chocolate. On the palate, Gemei Rosso (Gemei meaning twins, referring to the winery's coat of arms depicting 8 twins that were said to have been born in the family's property) is wonderfully balanced, juicy, and smooth. It is high in freshness, light in body making it a great wine for pairing with pizza, pasta, even fatty fish dishes.
