Nicolis' Seccal is made from grapes grown in the Seccal vineyard wine, a site that has the best conditions to make a full-bodied wine, rich in extract.
Seccal is made according to the traditional Ripasso method which involves passing the fermented wine onto the dried skins of the Amarone wine after the Amarone has been wracked off. This second fermentation on the skins that are super rich in sugar and aromatic components gives Ripasso wines more body and complexity. They're also known as mini-Amarone's in fact. Seccal is then aged for 16 months in Slavonian oak barrels before resting in the bottle for at least 6 months before being released.
This red wine is rich on the palate with a long finish and full of aromas of ripe fruit, spices and tobacco.
