Markus Schneider's Kaitui Sauvignon Blanc was the firm favourite during our first Quaranvino Three of a Kind session focusing on Sauvignon Blanc. Kaitui means seamstress in Maui, the native language of New Zealand which reflects what sort of style he went for in this wine : clean, straight, aromatic NZ-style sauvignon blanc like we all know and love.
The grapes for this wine are grown on cool, limestone soils at high altitudes which give the wine good acidity and the temperature differences serve to fix the acidity in the wine and give this wine its exotic fruit character.
In the glass you'll see a bright yellow colour with captivating reflections. On the nose you'll find delicious exotic fruits such as papaya, lychee, guava, and kiwi as well as crisp fresh green apples, mint and lemongrass and then in the mouth you'll find it mineral, juicy, crisp and soft on the palate with balanced acidity. This is a really beautifully crafted Sauvignon Blanc.
NB. This wine is supplied by our distributor of Italian wines, for this reason, it can be added to an order of Italian wines with no extra shipping cost.
