Gewurtztraminer is a grape variety that shouts lycees and roses and can sometimes be overpowering but we love this toned-down, elegant version by Klaus Lentsch.
Gewurztraminer is a mutation of the Traminer grape thought to have originated in the village called Tramin in the Sud Tirol, just 20 or so kilometer's from Klaus' winery. Its rose and lycee notes make it perfect for asian cuisine with lots of aromas of fresh herbs. Its dryness also mean that it pairs well with fish or seafood. It would also be good as aperitif with some crudités and light dips...
If you've not had Gewurztraminer for a while, this should definitely be on your wish list...
