We love Klaus Lentsch's Bachart Blauburgunder Riserva.
Blaugurgunder, aka Pinot Noir is the epitome elegance in wine and Klaus adds manical attention to detail to ensure that this wine really expresses both grape variety and terroir.
He picks only the best grapes from tiny areas within his best vineyards. He then vinifies them all separately, tastes them blind and then confirms his final selection for this wine. The wine spends 20 months ageing in a mix of barrique & large barrels and the result is elegant, complex, typically pinot noir.
We’ll be drinking this with roast poultry and mature cheeses for sure..
