Quaranvino Holy Lands discovery box gives you the chance to explore the wines from Palestine and Lebanon.

Lebanon is the oldest wine-producing country in the world with the first wines being made there over 7000 years ago. Most of the vineyards are located in the Bekaa valley, a vast fertile plain located at 1000m above sea level. Most of the grapes grown in Lebanon are of French origin but the native varieties : Merwah and Obeidah are grown to make the local anise drink Arak.

Palestine has a smaller wine industry with only a couple of wineries the largest and most well-known being Cremisan. Part of a monastery owned by the Salesians, the profits from the winery go to fund schools in nearby Bethlehem. The three wines in our box are local varieties made by the first wine-maker of Palestinian origin.

In this box you will find:

 Three wines from Palestine (750ml)

  • Cremisan Dabouki : light and refreshing, floral and mineral white wine. Perfect paired with light dishes and summer salads.
  • Cremisan Hamdani & Jandali : a 50/50 blend of two local white grapes. This is medium to full bodied with good structure and a long finish. Pairs fabulously with roasted white meats, grilled fish or even charcuterie.
  • Baladi : red wine made from Baladije Asmar grapes, aged in wood for 12 months. It’s full of red fruit, spices, leather some vanilla and chocolate. Perfect with barbeque meats or vegetable bakes.

 Two wines from Lebanon (750ml)

  • Chateau Heritage St Elie rosé – deep in colour and a lot of structure, this rosé wine will stand up to any summer meal. Made from Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon, its bouquet is full of strawberry and cherry aromas.
  • Chateau Heritage St Elie rouge – a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cinsault. This is an elegant blend with aromas of juicy black fruits, vanilla and chocolate. One of our most loved Chateau Heritage wines.

Arak (0.54ml)

  • The Touma family, owners of Chateau Heritage, are famous the world over for their Arak, a traditional spirit made from distilling the local grape varieties twice and then adding crushed anise seeds and distilling again. It should be served 1:1 with water and lots of ice. It also is a great addition for very summery cocktails, add lemon and cucumber and enjoy on the terrace.
