When Gianluca's Uncle, the head winemaker for Garofoli made this wine, he had one ambition in his mind. Up until that point Verdicchio was known as a wine that was cheap and rather bland but he saw the potential the Verdicchio grapes could show in the Castelli di Jesi area. He then worked for 20 years to find the right clones for exactly the right vineyard to make a wine which he knew would end up on the Podium and he did it. Wow.
We love this wine and we know that if you're able to resist opening it and can keep it cellared for 5-7years, you'll fall in love with all over again as it develops more intense, rich, even petrol aromas...
