In the Trio box of our Quaranvino goes to Portugal wine boxes, this Cartuxa Colheita Tinto was produced from the classic and probably most famous grape varieties of the Alentejo - Trincadeira, Aragonez and Alicante Bouschet.
We loved it for its captivating aromas of ripe berry fruits. On the palate, this premium Alentejo wine is wonderfully concentrated and elegant, with a round structure, well-balanced tannins and a pleasantly long and smooth finish.
This flagship wine reflects the tradition and fame of the first "winemakers" at Cartuxa; they were Carthusian monks who settled in the monastery of Santa Maria Scala Coeli in 1587.
