Klaus Lentsch's Eichberg Grüner Veltliner was the very first Quaranvino Dinner Date wine and really stole the show. It is such an elegant, well-balanced Grüner Veltliner which was very different in style to some of the Gruner Veltliners that we know from Austria and with so much structure. Klaus has aged his wines for 10 years and says they're still going strong, becoming more complex and developed in the bottle. This is one to keep in the cellar - if you can resist.... 

With high acidity and oomph this is a great food wine, and extremely versatile. Try it with something spicy, it'll bring out the saffron and peppery notes. Grilled fish or stewed pork with apricots were some of the favourite food-pairings our Quaranvino diners recommend.

Taste: Spicy, fruity, fresh, mineral

Aromas: White pepper, saffron, pineapple

Colour: Light straw yellow with greenish reflections

Pairs well with: fish, seafood, medium mature cheeses, asian foods with a bit of spice
