Brachetto is one of those unusual wines that you find only in Italy, in fact only in the region of Piedmont or Piemonte. When you try this you'll wonder why you've never had it before! Bursting with red fruits, it shouts "summer!" and is perfect with ice cream and a big bowl of berries or chocolate mousse, granache or truffles. Borgo Maragliano's version also has some really interesting notes of white pepper and nutmeg.
Not overly sweet and super low-alcohol (only 6.5%) this is one of those bottles that'll be finished before you've realised it.
This was was included in our Quaranvino Summer Wines sessions and we love serving it with chocolate pots as we relax at the end of a sunny day.... Our easiest recipe is 50ml of our favourite chocolate melted slowly in a saucepan of 125ml of cream, then left in the fridge to chill for a few hours. Bliss.
